EU Data Act Compliance – Important Customer Information

How Asahi Photoproducts ensures transparent and secure data handling under the EU Data Act

The European Union’s Data Act will take effect on September 12, 2025, establishing clear rules for the use of data generated by connected products and related services.

At Asahi Photoproducts, transparency and compliance are key priorities. We are committed to keeping our customers informed about how data from our development and waste liquid treatment equipment is collected, processed, and used in line with this legislation.

Our connected equipment is equipped with the Ewon® Flexy IoT device, which enables secure data transmission to the cloud environment (AWS). Only equipment for which customer consent has been obtained will transmit product data. This ensures compliance with the EU Data Act while maintaining trust and openness with our customers.

The collected data is primarily used to:

  • Diagnose and predict equipment malfunctions

  • Improve detection accuracy

  • Enhance equipment utilization rates

  • Provide informed proposals and support to our customers

In some cases, non-identifiable processed or aggregated data may also be shared with third parties to further improve service quality.
